A Mag for all Seasons is an experimental magazine project in four issues, aiming to capture and express the emotional scope of each season in a print publication through art, photography, literature and journalism. Produced together with Ana Lessing and Kevin Braddock, we launched with Winter magazine in March 2014.
The idea for this magazine arose in autumn 2013, when a sense of panic at the impending winter descended upon Berlin. Winter is the season of extremes and opposing emotions, and our aim was to capture these contradicting emotions and mould them into a very special object.
Winter is printed on eight different types of paper stock that in their colour and weight represent the different stages of snow. Aiming to be a collector’s item, it is printed in high quality with a circulation of 1,000. It is produced independently and free of advertising, and published in English and German, with English-language translations provided for all German texts.
